ACT A FOOL

This past weekend I went to Kelowna to visit my friend Jen. To sum up what the pictures may not, we got our nails done by a friendly Vietnamese man named Ky, spent to much money in general, started dance parties, offended people with our outfits, and barely made it out of the weekend alive. Cheers Kelowna, until we meet again.

CADENCE WEAPON - AFTERPARTY BABIES

Woah! He's got hit records and he's from Edmonton, Cadence Weapon must be doing something right. It must be the fact that his lyrics are crazy, he's mashing hip-hop- electro- and disco... and has got a sick DJ Weez-L on his side. After the success of his last album Breaking Kayfabe, Pemberton has been on tour all over Canada as well as the US. Now he's back with Afterparty Babies (Epitaph Records) and starting a tour with Buck 65. Do the man a favor and check him out, you won't be disappointed. Watch out for Cadence Weapon hitting Edmonton May 1st.

HAPPY LEAP YEAR

Every four years someone, somewhere turns just 1 year older. Your friend in college turns 5, a grandma turns 20... your dad only has 12 candles on his cake. Celebrated on the 29th of February, the leap year was established by Julius Caesar and helps keep time on track! Fortunately this was one of those years. My friends and I ended up going to a Leap Year house party and needless to say I was really impressed. These guys went all out, lily pad cut outs on the floor, all the room mates had frog costumes including webbed gloves, as well as 2 kegs and a texas micky. You really can't go wrong with that combination. Sher introduced us to the couple people she recognized from school, Forestry @ NAIT and we all had a really good night. One of the highlights was getting a tour of "the bus" where one of Sher's classmates actually lives. It's just parked behind the house but its fully functional as a living space. Hipster to the max. Anyway, it was a good time. Happy leap year to all of you!
