GUNS N BOMBS - TRANSMUSICALES 2008 MIX

THE ONES WE LOVE

I came across The Ones We Love today and literally fell in love with the site. Browsing through all the photos and little notes from the photographers left me wanting more... good thing they are always accepting submissions.

"The Ones We Love is a project highlighting young and talented photographers from around the world. Each artist contributed six photographs of the person(s) who is most important to them, taken outdoors in a natural setting. The goal of the website is to portray the people who are loved, cherished, and inspirational to these artists, and also showcase the differences and similarities in the photographs each of them took within the same guidelines."

NEW FM 107

It seems as if the demand for more alternative radio, including hip hop and electronica has spread to the FM waves of Edmonton. The lobby for a new station, appropriately named NEW FM 107 has quickly gained the support of many Edmontonians, however that's not always enough to create a successful station. In theory it's always great to have 'different' music available to the public. Yet somewhere along the way the grassroots approach to radio is often thrown off track by one thing or another. This new station is still in the development process and is looking for signatures for their petition. Perhaps we'll be hearing the NEW FM 107 pumping the latest and greatest of electro and hip hop in 09, guess we'll just have to wait and see.

HI*5 - DAPHÜTUR

This past Friday I joined the masses and celebrated the last day of classes for many university students. Most started their day early with a stop by the beer gardens, so by the time 10 o'clock rolled around at The Temple, everyone was losing it. Some local kids threw down the beat and kept finals the furthest thing from anyones mind. That being said, good luck to everyone on their finals. Here's a taste of Friday night for anyone who missed out or needs a dance/study break.

WOODHANDS THIS SUNDAY

Just a friendly reminder to check out Woodhands this Sunday. Unfortunately I have to work that night so I can't make it, but that doesn't mean you can't go!

Oh, and like the poster says the show will be over at 11, so if you're planning on showing up fashionably late, don't.
